From July 1, 2016, to June 30, 2017, Ascension Wisconsin’s benefit to the communities we serve totaled more than $257 million and included $38.5 million in financial assistance (formerly called charity care) for those patients who could not afford medical care. During that time, Ascension provided more than $1.8 billion in care of persons living in poverty and community benefit programs across the nation.
