Hemorrhoid Treatment

What are Hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are a collection of blood vessels in the lower rectum. Everyone is born with hemorrhoids as a normal part of the vascular tissue in the rectum. However, hemorrhoidal tissues can enlarge and may require treatment. Common symptoms that may require treatment include:

  • Rectal bleeding during bowel movements
  • Prolapse (tissue comes outside of anus) during bowel movements
  • Itching or discomfort in the anal area

Hemorrhoid Energy Therapy

Affinity Medical Group’s board-certified Gastroenterologists are proud to offer a new non-surgical approach to hemorrhoid treatment. The HET Bipolar System is a non-surgical treatment option for low grade hemorrhoids. This exciting technology allows Affinity Medical Group gastroenterologists to provide non-surgical treatment for low grade hemorrhoids in a single procedure. The HET Bipolar system treats hemorrhoids in the area where the human body doesn’t feel much pain, using low power energy.

HET Bipolar System Difference

HET Bipolar System is a simplified therapy that typically takes only seconds to complete.

Traditional hemorrhoid treatment options often require multiple procedures to treat the hemorrhoids, including banding and infrared coagulation procedures. In contrast, the HET Bipolar System can be used to treat multiple hemorrhoids in a single therapy session. The HET Biploar System enables a more efficient treatment of grades I and II internal hemorrhoids compared to banding because it typically only needs one session.

How it Works

The HET Bipolar system is inserted into the rectum and low power energy is delivered to the blood supply feeding enlarged hemorrhoids – not to the hemorrhoid itself. This causes the blood volume to be reduced and the hemorrhoid to shrink in size. This is a gentle and simple therapy session that can be completed within seconds.
