Neonatal Intensive Care

Premature, special needs and sick newborns get the focused attention and specialty care they need at our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Affinity Health System Neonatal Services, located at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, cares for premature, special needs and sick newborns. Our Neonatal Services team includes neonatologists, specially-trained nurses, pharmacists and other health care professionals who serve our tiny patients from throughout Northeast Wisconsin.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides care for infants of all birth weights and gestations who require more than routine newborn care. We treat a variety of problems, including pulmonary, metabolic, cardiac, hematological, neurological and infectious disorders. We offer high frequency ventilation for premature infants and Giraffe® incubators for babies’ comfort.  The NICU also actively involves other subspecialties from throughout Affinity Health System, including physical, occupational and speech therapy. Thanks to Affinity Health System’s relationship with the University of Wisconsin, a UW pediatric specialist is available for consults.
