Physical therapists and occupational therapists provide treatment for a variety of arthritis conditions. Treatment may include exercise, pain control, education on self-management and joint protection.
We provide coordinated outpatient evaluation and treatment services for patients diagnosed with rheumatologic conditions. The program coordinator, physical therapists, occupational therapists and a rehabilitation psychologist work together to provide a treatment program designed for each patient's specific needs. Treatment usually involves exercise, pain control, education on self-management, diet and nutrition, joint protection and community resources.
People with arthritis will benefit from the warm water pool at St. Elizabeth Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation on East College Avenue in Appleton. Water exercises help with cardiovascular conditioning, endurance and muscular and joint mobility. This is a self-pay program.
