Mary and Richard Hofman Humanitarian Fund
The Hofmans – both long-time teachers in the area – established this fund through out an outright gift in 2007, which will be augmented by the remainder of charitable gift annuities funded by Mary and Richard Hofman in memory of their parents, Dr. Alvin and Anna Dupont and Leonard and Mary L. Hofman, and in memory of Mary’s aunt, Adele Higgins. The Hofmans wished to assist the needy and underserved patients who otherwise might fall through the cracks of the healthcare system at a critical time. Mary’s father interned at St. Elizabeth Hospital around 1926. He practiced in Angelica, Pulaski and Green Bay, Wisconsin. Richard’s parents lived most of their married life in Appleton and used St. Elizabeth Hospital for their medical needs. Mary’s aunt worked as a nurse at Milwaukee County Hospital for 43 years.
