Dr. C. Christopher Wallace Physicians Endowment

The Dr. C. Christopher Wallace Physician’s Fund was established in 1995 through a generous gift from Network Health System Inc. in honor and memory of Dr. C. Christopher Wallace.  Dr. Wallace came to the Fox Valley in 1977 to begin practicing family medicine with Medical Arts Clinic, which he continued for 15 years.  Dr. Wallace was one of the prime movers in the 1989 merger of Medical Arts Clinic and Nicolet Clinic which was then renamed La Salle.  He was elected the first chairman of the board of the new corporation and continued in that role until 1993.  In 1991, Dr. Wallace shifted his focus to administrative work full-time when he was elected president of La Salle.  He was instrumental in the formation of the integrated delivery network, Network Health System, Inc., that evolved into Affinity Health System.  Cancer took Dr. Wallace from his family, friends and colleagues much too early, claiming him in 1994 at the age of 46.  The fund supports costs associated with Affinity Health System physicians traveling to third-world countries on medical missions or to attend retreats which enable the physician to reflect upon their feelings on why they chose to go into the medical healing field.
