Proceeds from this year's event will be directed towards funding two state-of-the-art birthing suites at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Each room will include an upgraded birthing bed that enhances the mother's comfort and safety and incorporates innovations that improve ergonomics and ease-of-use for the caregivers.
A Panda Infant Warmer will be purchased that offers the new baby a safe, warm and tranquil environment when he isn't being held by his parents. The Panda Warmer has the capability, not only to keep the infant warm, but also to monitor the blood oxygen content and heart rate of the baby through a simple probe placed on the foot. A colorful, digital display of the time, blood oxygen, heart rate, and infant weight is also available on the Panda Warmer.
Funds raised in excess of the equipment costs will be directed to the Women and Families Endowment Fund to provide ongoing support to health care issues specific to women and children.
