Gary Kusnierz
Vice President, Performance Excellence
Gary Kusnierz was named vice president of Performance Excellence in 2007. In this role, Kusnierz leads continuous improvement, strategic planning, development and construction, and sustainability for Affinity Health System..
Specifically, Kusnierz is charged with developing and incorporating LEAN principles throughout Affinity Health System. LEAN is a process that helps organizations eliminate waste and become more efficient in the delivery of products and services to its customers. Kusinerz is also charged with overseeing construction and development projects for the organization.
Kusnierz received his master’s degree in engineering management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. During his graduate work, Kusinerz studied extensively the principles of LEAN and completed his thesis on applying LEAN in health care. Kusinerz earned his LEAN Lead Certification and Master LEAN Lead Certification in the Toyota Production System.
Kusnierz has spoken both locally and nationally on applying LEAN in health care and environmental sustainability from a design, construction and operations perspective.
