Steps to Volunteer
Please review the following volunteer requirements.
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. To ensure our patients’ well-being and help you have the best possible volunteer experience, Affinity requires that all volunteers:
- complete an application (and if under 18 also complete the Parent/Guardian Permission form for the appropriate location: Mercy Medical Center or St. Elizabeth Hospital)
- provide two personal references
- interview with an Affinity team member to find out areas of interest and possible assignments
- complete a background check
- meet with an Affinity nurse for a health check, which includes a TB skin test and an immunization check
- complete three orientations:
- Volunteer Services orientation
- Affinity Health System orientation
- department-specific training
