Water Birth Class
This class is for people who are interested in learning about delivering babies in water and for those low-risk pregnant women who are planning a waterbirth. Labor and birth in water helps women relax, reduces the need for pain medication, and makes it easier for women to move and change positions during labor. It provides a smoother transition for babies into an air environment. A short video and tour of the waterbirth room is also provided. Deb Zelhofer and Jenny Taubel are two of the practicing nurse-midwives at Mercy Medical Center, and both have performed waterbirths. Free.
