Call It Quits Tobacco Cessation Program

Stopping the usage of tobacco is a challenge. Many people stop on their own, but most require support. The Call it Quits Tobacco Cessation Program offers a telephone-based counseling service or classroom support for people who are ready to stop using tobacco.

Classroom Support

The Call It Quits classroom program will help you assess your tobacco habit, identify triggers, and develop a personalized plan. You will be given many tools to assist with the quit process.  Benefits of the classes include support from other tobacco users, additional preparation and support at the time of your quit date, and one year follow-up after you are tobacco-free to prevent relapse. This program is for all forms of tobacco use including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and chew tobacco.  For class dates and times, visit our online class schedule.

Phone Support

If you’re addicted to tobacco and want to quit, support is essential. Affinity Health System’s Call It Quits Tobacco Cessation Program offers phone counseling to people in Northeast Wisconsin who are ready to quit smoking and stop using tobacco. This program is FREE and open to anyone in the Fox Cities and Oshkosh who wants to quit smoking or using tobacco.

What happens when I call?
A Call It Quits counselor will ask you a series of questions and help you decide your next steps.  The counselor will:

  • assess your smoking or tobacco habit
  • discuss your readiness to quit
  • help you develop a personalized plan to quit
  • send you a free educational packet to assist you in the process
  • provide you with support.

Why telephone counseling?

  • Privacy and confidentiality: Only you and the counselor will know you are trying to stop.
  • Convenience: You can call from your home, work, car, or any other place.

Periodically, Affinity offers in-person classes at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton and Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh for people who want to quit smoking or using tobacco. Call Affinity NurseDirect at 1-800-362-9900 for class schedules.  Or click here to register online.
