Mercy Medical Center Visitor Guidelines
To ensure the comfort of all hospital patients, please:
- Limit visitors to two at a time.
- Keep visits short and quiet.
- Don’t sit on the bed or use the lavatory in the room.
- Direct special requests to the nurse in charge.
General Visiting Hours
11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Nursing staff may customize an individual patient's visiting hours based on the patient's needs.
Special restrictions apply to the mental health unit, intensive care, and isolation rooms.
Family Waiting Rooms
There are family waiting rooms in the following departments:
- Intensive Care
- Patient Care Unit 2
Families will be kept informed by staff and/or physicians in these areas.
The coffee cart is a free service provided to visitors Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Volunteers deliver coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cookies to visitors in the ICU waiting room, patient care area lounges and patient rooms.
Starbucks brand coffee beverages and snacks are available for purchase Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Mercy Medical Center is a smoke-free campus.
Visitor parking is available surrounding the hospital perimeter. Visitors are asked to use the ground level or first floor hospital entrance. There is a covered drop-off point at both of these entrances.
Mercy Medical Center has 24-hour security to assure patient/visitor safety.
Cell phones are allowed inside the hospital wherever a "Cell Phone Friendly" sign appears.
Automated Teller Machines
An automated bank teller (TYME) machine is located in the galleria near the Volunteer Services office.
Wireless Computer Access
Laptop computers with wireless technology are available by request.
