Mercy Health Foundation awards $50,000 in grants

OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Mercy Health Foundation board of trustees approved $50,721 in new grants recently.

• The Tri-County Dental Clinic, which serves low-income residents of Winnebago, Outagamie and Calumet counties, received $25,000 to subsidize the cost of care for southern Winnebago County residents who receive services from the clinic.
• The Intensive Care unit at Mercy Medical Center will receive $17, 721 to purchase an AutoPulse Resuscitation System—an automated CPR device. This new technology will be the first of its kind for Affinity Health System. Research has shown that it is 20 percent more effective than perfectly performed manual CPR in cardiac arrest situations and reduces patient mortality and cognitive damage.
• The Affinity Emergency Life Crisis Fund received $8,000 to provide qualified low-income employees with a financial subsidy when they are faced with a non-medical emergency that overwhelms their personal budget.
