APPLETON, Wis. – Affinity Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine of Appleton is sponsoring the 2007-08 Bone and Joint Wellness series.

The series consists of seven free classes on a number of bone and joint health issues. All classes will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Helen G. Fowler Conference Center at St. Elizabeth Hospital, 1506 S. Oneida St., Appleton.

Series topics include:

  • “Don’t let arthritis of the knee get you down,” presented by Dr. Lee Hash, orthopaedic surgeon, on Oct. 9. This class will focus on what to expect with knee replacement surgery.
  • “Rotator cuff tears:  Getting back into the swing of things,” presented by Dr. Brett Young, orthopaedic surgeon, on Oct. 23.
  • “My aching feet,” presented by Dr. David Miller, podiatrist, on Nov. 6. This class will focus on adult-acquired flat foot.
  • “Don’t let arthritis of the hip get you down,” presented by Dr. Joseph McCormick, orthopaedic surgeon, on March 25. This class will focus on the latest developments in hip replacement surgery.
  • “Common sports injuries:  Staying in the game,” presented by Dr. Christopher Prato, orthopaedic surgeon, on April 8.
  • “Carpal tunnel and other common hand disorders:  Getting a grip on the right treatment,” presented by Dr. Dan Metz, orthopaedic surgeon, on April 22.
  • “My aching feet:  Degenerative joint disease in the foot,” presented by Dr. Steven Hutton, podiatrist, on May 6.
