OSHKOSH, Wis. – Bill Calhoun, FACHE, president of Mercy Medical Center, has been appointed to the Council of Regents, the legislative body of the American College of Healthcare Executives. The Council of Regents serves as the vital link between the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and members by approving governance and membership regulations as well as promoting ACHE programs, services and activities within their respective areas.
Calhoun will take office at the Council of Regents meeting March 9, 2013, during ACHE’s 56th Congress on Healthcare Leadership at the Hilton Chicago. As a Regent, Calhoun will represent ACHE’s membership in Wisconsin.

Neufelder, senior vice president of hospital operations for Ministry Health Care and president of Affinity Health System. “Mercy Medical Center and the Oshkosh community are fortunate to have such a great leader in the health care industry right in our community.”
Calhoun has served as president of Mercy Medical Center since 2007. Prior to this position, he was senior vice president and chief operating officer of The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle, Maine; a member organization of the Eastern Maine Healthcare System.
Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Calhoun has served on the ACHE Wisconsin Chapter Board of Directors, and most recently as the Treasurer.
Calhoun received his master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and his bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
