CHILTON, Wis. – NRC Picker, a division of National Research Corporation, has selected Calumet Medical Center as a recipient of its 2010 Path to Excellence awards.

NRC Picker selected Path to Excellence award recipients based on their achievement within categories that patients have identified as being most important to the quality of their care. The award is bestowed only on those organizations ranked by patients as being in the top five in one of the following categories: overall hospital experience, pain management or communication with nurses. Calumet Medical Center was selected for its top-five ranking in nurse communication and pain management among hospitals with bed sizes less than 250.

“We are constantly striving to provide our patients with personalized care,” said Tim Richman, president of Calumet Medical Center. “Patient satisfaction is important to us and we are always aiming to provide the best possible experience for our patients. This award illustrates our continued commitment to this."

Award recipients were required to achieve a top-five ranking over the last four quarters when patients rated their overall satisfaction. The winners were selected from NRC Picker's extensive database of clients for their performance over the last four quarters.
