MENASHA, Wis. – Dr. Peter Janu, an Affinity Medical Group surgeon, and his partners offers transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF), a procedure for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The TIF procedure, an innovative form of incisionless transoral natural orifice surgery, reconstructs the body's natural antireflux barrier.
Janu, who has been performing the procedure for nearly two years, has developed one of the largest experiences in the country.
"The TIF procedure can significantly improve quality of life for appropriate patients when conservative and medical therapy fails to relieve symptoms," Janu said. "Most patients are able to stop medications for heartburn and the vast majority have been satisfied with the control of reflux.”
