Affinity Health System registered dietitian receives Wisconsin Medallion Award

MENASHA, Wis.- Rosalyn Haase, registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator with Affinity Health System, has won the 2010 Wisconsin Medallion Award, the Wisconsin Dietetic Association’s (WDA) highest honor.

To qualify for the award, nominees must be a registered dietitian in the state of Wisconsin or a registered dietetic technician and a WDA member for 15 or more years. The candidate is selected based on professional participation, professional contributions, leadership qualities and letters of support.

Haase has been with Affinity Health System since 2008 and provides diabetes medical nutrition therapy and diabetes self-management education to patients referred by their primary care physician. Haase works with endocrinologists, nurse practitioners and other diabetes educators to provide team-based diabetes prevention, education and management.

Haase participates in multiple professional activities both statewide and nationally including: serving on the board of the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators as a registered dietitian representative, serving as a contributing author to Wisconsin Diabetes Essential Care Guidelines and serving as a committee member on the Diabetes Care and Education Practice Group Leadership Committee.

Haase received her masters of public health degree in 1995 and her Bachelor of Science degree in 1979 from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis.
