St. Elizabeth Hospital Visitor Guidelines

To ensure the comfort of all hospital patients, please:

  • Limit visitors to two at a time.
  • Keep visits short and quiet.
  • Don’t sit on the bed or use the lavatory in the room.
  • If you have children under the age of 10, check in with a nurse.

General Visiting Hours
11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Nursing staff may customize an individual patient's visiting hours based on the patient's needs.
Special restrictions apply to the adult and adolescent mental health units, BirthPlace, NICU, intensive/coronary care, open heart and isolation rooms.

Family Waiting Rooms
There are family waiting rooms in the following departments:

  • Surgery
  • Intensive/Coronary Care
  • Emergency
  • BirthPlace

Families will be kept informed by staff and/or physicians in these areas.

Smoking
St. Elizabeth Hospital is a smoke-free campus.

Parking
Patient and visitor parking is available in designated lots and in the parking ramp located on the south side of the hospital.  To visit the Breast Center or Children's Health Center, enter at the intersection of Oneida and Seymour Streets and park in the designated patient/visitor lot.

After-Hours Access
Regular hospital hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  After hours and on weekends, patients and visitors should enter through the Emergency Room where a registrar is available to assist you.

Internet Cafe
Open to patients, visitors and employees from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Walk in and smell the coffee.  The Internet Cafe combines the comforting aromas of a coffee house with the quiet atmosphere of a library.  Enjoy Starbucks brand coffees, cappuccino, espresso, lattes and teas.  The Internet Cafe also serves to-go items such as muffins, yogurt, soup and sandwiches.

Resource Center
Open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Resource Center is part of the Internet Cafe and contains books, periodicals, audiovisual materials and online resources for patients, families and the general public.  Browse through a comprehensive assortment of materials on health, wellness and medical topics.  A professional librarian can assist you in finding reliable, up-to-date information.  Free photocopying, scanning and Internet access are available.

Security
St. Elizabeth Hospital has 24-hour security to assure patient/visitor safety.

Cell Phones
Cell phones are allowed inside the hospital wherever a "Cell Phone Friendly" sign appears.

ATM
An automated bank teller (TYME) machine is located within the Oneida Street visitor entrance doors.

Wireless Computer Access
Laptop computers with wireless technology are available by request.
