The Foundation of Affinity Integrative Medicine
Integrative Medicine brings non-traditional healing approaches, such as acupuncture, massage and yoga, into your health care plan.
Mary Anhaltzer believed her daughter would have had improved quality and length of life if non-traditional therapies had been fully utilized in fighting the cancer that eventually took her life in 1997.
This was the genesis of our journey toward the development of an Integrative Medicine program. Mrs. Anhaltzer’s daughter did have some success with measures that she and her parents researched on their own. That experience prompted Mary, through the Alberta S. Kimball Foundation, to make a generous grant to develop the Affinity Health System Integrative Medicine program. Local businessman Ted Leyhe shared Mrs. Anhaltzer’s vision and added to the grant through the Alexandra Charitable Trust, to help get the program underway for the benefit of Oshkosh area residents and Affinity Health System patients. These generous donations, and many others, are made possible through the work of the Mercy Health Foundation.
Today, the Mercy Health Foundation supports a range of very important community health and wellness initiatives, including Integrative Medicine.
