The Affinity Health System Pain Management Clinic helps patients with chronic pain, such as low back pain, neck or shoulder pain, fibromyalgia or myofascial pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), arthritis and headaches.
The Pain Management Clinic brings together a specially-trained team of health care professionals including a nurse case manager, a rehabilitation psychologist, physical therapists, occupational therapists and biofeedback specialists. Together, we design a treatment plan to help each individual improve function and better manage chronic pain.
Pain Management Program
The Pain Management program is intensive outpatient therapy. You’ll visit the Pain Management Clinic two to three days per week, for a total of 35 to 45 hours of therapy, over eight weeks. Patients attend each session and do the assigned home exercises. The program doctor will evaluate you to determine whether the Pain Management program is right for you. Then, a team of pain specialists will evaluate your case and meet to develop your specific treatment plan.
The Pain Management team may recommend a number of different treatment options, including:
- medical intervention, including intercostal nerve block, facet nerve block, epidural steroid injection and radiofrequency ablation
- psychology sessions
- physical therapy
- occupational therapy
- pain management education
- referral to other resources
We also offer referrals to many other Affinity resources, including support groups, warm water exercise programs, dietitians, psychiatrists, continence control programs and worker’s rehabilitation programs.
