Pediatric Rehabilitation
We help children reach their full potential.
At Affinity Pediatric Rehabilitation, we help children with impairments or disabilities reach their full potential through supportive, child-focused rehabilitation. Working with each child as an individual, we find the medical, physical, occupational or speech therapy services that will help that child the most. We offer outpatient and inpatient pediatric therapy programs.
Team of Experts
The Affinity Pediatric Rehabilitation program brings together caring pediatric experts from many different specialties. The team works together to care for children with disabling conditions including cerebral palsy, genetic syndromes, autistic disorders, muscular dystrophies, developmental delay, language and hearing disorders, sports injuries and brain and spine injuries.
Team members include pediatric physical, occupational and speech therapists and a social worker. Neuropsychological tests and counseling are also available.
Pediatric Physical Therapy
Pediatric physical therapists help children with movement, including flexibility, strength, balance, walking and cardiovascular health. Pediatric physical therapists also assist children with orthotics (braces), wheelchairs, walkers and other adaptive equipment.
Pediatric Occupational Therapy
Affinity pediatric occupational therapists evaluate and treat children’s daily living functions such as feeding, grooming and other self-care skills, as well as fine motor skills, muscle tone and movement programs, sensory integration, visual perception and visual motor skills.
Pediatric Speech Therapy
Pediatric speech pathologists help children improve their communication skills. They specialize in oral motor skills, feeding skills, swallowing ability, language, stuttering and articulation.
Social Worker
A pediatric social worker is available to help families with special needs children. Many families welcome this resource. Social workers have specialized training to help special-needs children and their families, and can refer families to other useful community support resources.
Special Services
Affinity offers special services for pediatric rehabilitation patients, such as:
- Botox injections
- electrical stimulation
- infant massage
- kinesiotaping
- sign language
- spinal and joint injections
- therapeutic listening
We also offer electromyogram (EMC) and nerve conduction study (NGS) tests, which gather vital information about a child’s nerve and muscle function.
