Grandparent's Grief

Grandparents are often the forgotten grievers, and in the past there has been very little support available to help grandparents. From the moment you became a parent, you sought to protect you child from the pain, sorrows and disappointments in life. Suddenly your child is facing one of the deepest pains possible: the loss of a child. Grandparents experience a "double grief"; not only are you grieving for your lost grandchild but you are also grieving for all the pain your child is experiencing.

As a grandparent, your grief may not be recognized by others and even your child, but you are, most definitely, entitled to it.
