Keys to Healthy Travel
There are several important strategies every traveler should consider when planning to travel abroad.
Plan in advance
When traveling abroad, leave sufficient time to plan for your medical needs. Taking simple precautions before departure and while abroad can go a long way toward minimizing risks. Seek medical care and vaccinations months in advance of your trip.
Know what vaccinations you need
Our team employs proprietary resources that help determine which vaccines are recommended or mandatory for the countries you plan to visit. Our information is updated daily, alerting us to any changes in requirements, safety concerns or travel restrictions.
Provide time for immunity to develop
It’s important to provide sufficient time to update routine immunizations and for those vaccinations to take effect. Most vaccines take two to four weeks to develop full protection, and some require multiple doses given weeks or months apart. Some countries check the dates you received a vaccine and may not let you enter if the vaccine was not given far enough in advance.
Travel in good health
Plan early to take care of routine dental and medical matters before traveling. We’ll review your medical history, current diseases, medications and allergies as part of your visit.
