Athletic Training

Evaluations and Treatment

We currently provide licensed athletic trainers to Appleton Xavier, Little Chute, Valley Christian, Oshkosh North, Oshkosh West and Oshkosh Lourdes. Affinity athletic trainers attend these schools’ sporting events and provide health, fitness and rehabilitation advice for athletes, coaches and parents.

Oshkosh Schools Expand Program

Affinity’s new, expanded athletic training program with the Oshkosh Area School District includes district-wide blood pressure screenings, injury checks, home exercise programs and other fitness and wellness classes.

Wisconsin Athletic Training Association (WATA)

Affinity Health System, in collaboration with Theda Care and UW-Oshkosh, is organizing the Wisconsin Athletic Trainers' Association Spring Symposium and Annual Business Meeting in April 2011.  The event will be held at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton, Wisconsin.  Licensed athletic trainers from around the state will attend the symposium presentations and meetings for professional development and continuing education.

Quickness Utilization and Explosive Speed Training (QUEST)

Affinity Health System's Quickness Utilization and Explosive Speed Training (QUEST) program is designed to help student athletes reach maximum performance capability and optimize athletic potential.  The program incorporates power, flexibility, biomechanics and agility to improve performance and decrease the potential for injury.  QUEST provides six weeks of training that further builds teamwork, competitiveness and mental toughness.

CPR and AED Training

Licensed athletics trainers who are American Heart Association (AHA) instructors work in conjunction with the Affinity Learning Center to conduct on-site AHA training to Affinity Health System clinic staff, including online CPR and AED skills test-outs.  We also provide basic American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR and AED training to Affinity Health System's covered schools.

Community Events

Affinity's licensed athletic training staff provide medical coverage for contracted community events.
