Job Shadow
Due to the increasing demand for individual high school student job shadows in clinical settings, the Fox Valley Health Care Alliance has moved forward with an exciting plan to help meet Fox Valley area teacher and student needs while alleviating the tremendous strain on the health care agencies for individual job shadow requests and guest speakers. Starting the fall semester of 2010, each of the FVHCA partners began offering health care career experience sessions for hands-on educational experiences for students. The Career Experience Event descriptions, dates, and times can be found on the FVHCA web site. Click the Career Experience/Job Shadow tab on the left of the screen. Thanks in advance for your understanding. Here is a link to the FVHCA web page: http://www.fvhca.org/index
For a closer look at health care careers, high school students who have attended one of the FVHCA Health Career Experience Events, and college students may job shadow at Affinity Health System. A job shadow gives a student a firsthand look at the daily experiences of health care professionals. Job shadows are for observation only. Affinity employees accompany students at all times.
Job shadows are available for:
- high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors who have attended a FVHCA Health Care Experience Event and wish additional information related to a specific health care career (eight hour maximum)
- college students enrolled in a health care program (eight-hour maximum)
- college students enrolled in a health care program requiring more than an eight-hour job shadow (40-hour maximum).
