Are you looking for a rewarding way to share your time and talents with others? Do you know of someone age 14 or older that may be interested in volunteering? Please consider learning more about joining the Volunteer Services team at Mercy Medical Center.
Volunteers come from all walks of life and backgrounds. Our volunteers are teenagers, retired adults, college students and professionals. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old and willing to work approximately fours hours per week. We ask for a commitment of at least six months, and students to commit to a full semester. In 2012, members of our team of 616 volunteers:
• donated more than 74,181 hours of service
• contributed time and raised funds equivalent to $1,352,019
• knit 714 hats for newborns
• screened 1,450 children for vision
• delivered 9,384 patient trays
• transported 9,657 patients
• made 253 blankets for patients.
