Caring for yourself during pregnancy is the key to giving your baby a healthy, happy start in life. The doctors, midwives and other medical professionals at Affinity Health System offer state-of-the-art obstetric care to women in Northeast Wisconsin.
Through our Affinity Medical Group clinics in Appleton, Oshkosh, Chilton, Neenah/Menasha, New London, and Ripon, we bring you a full range of obstetric care, from fertility assessment through post-partum care. Affinity designs our obstetric services from a woman’s perspective. We recognize that each woman is unique, and we treat every patient with personalized care. To serve active women and their families, we offer flexible, convenient scheduling at multiple locations.
Affinity’s BirthPlace provides full-service pregnancy care, including high-risk pregnancies, for families in the Fox Cities and Oshkosh. BirthPlace promotes the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of mother and baby.
Giving birth in a warm tub of water can make the birthing process gentler and more soothing. Laboring in water has been shown to calm and comfort a laboring mom, reduce pain, and ease tense muscles. Water birth also decreases adrenaline production, allowing for a shorter labor, and the pressure on the abdomen, which means better blood circulation and more oxygen to the mother and baby due to the buoyancy of the water. Mercy Medical Center offers both water birth (labor and delivery in water), as well as and the option to spend a portion of labor in a tub but deliver traditionally.
